Hikers will experience approximately 4 miles at a moderate pace will cover the gentle ascending low hills in the eastern area of the Deer Creek Hills Preserve.
The geology hike is being lead by SVC Docent Robert H. Sydnor, Engineering Geologist & Hydrogeologist. The hike will highlight where the Sierras meet the Valley with the Ione Formation then proceed eastward through the Salt Springs Slate and the Gopher Ridge Volcanic formation.
$10.00 registration fee and RSVP on-line or contact Gina Silvernale @ 916/612-3719. $40. season passes available.
Round trip hike approximately 4-8 miles. Hikers of different capacities are always welcomed and will be divided accordingly to best suit your pace! Slower, moderate and adventurous paces are offered.
A self guided trail is also available to the public at no cost.
