Join real life 1850's settler Solomon Miser portrayed by David Scharlach, Deer Creek Hill's Docent as he tells Solomon's story along the way. He will talk about the young man left for dead and nursed to health by Indians. That man, Miser's neighbor, would own one of the biggest ranches in all of Alta California.
Enjoy traveling back in time a 150 years on this 4000+ acre jewel to understand the extensive history to this virtually untouched landscape since the end of the 19th Century. David Scharlach will also highlight the famous general that surveyed the property and owned a missing piece of it.
David will lament the tale of poor Agnes as well as how the miner's inch saved many a broken back. The rolling foothills will support last of the season's wildflowers, creating a striking backdrop as guests hike approximately three hours on a gentle terrain.
$10.00 registration fee and RSVP on-line or contact Gina Silvernale @ 916/612-3719. $40. Season passes available.
Round trip hike approximately 4-8 miles. Hikers of different capacities are always welcomed and will be divided accordingly to best suit your pace! Slower, moderate and adventurous paces are offered.
A self guided trail is also available to the public at no cost.
